A man in his 30s has been arrested for illegally filming women's skirts while walking on the subway with a small camera between the toes wearing sandals.



The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's subway police unit announced today (4th) that they are investigating the arrest of a 31-year-old man, Lee Mo, on charges of using a camera, etc. under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act.



Mr. Lee is accused of illegally filming women while wearing a small camera on his feet from the end of August to the beginning of last month.



It was investigated that he used the technique of finding people in skirts on escalators or trains and putting their feet on them.



Only 30 victims were identified by the police.



On August 22, the police received a 112 report saying “I think I was filmed illegally at Seoul Station” and started tracking them.



After analyzing about 100 CCTVs installed at Seoul Station and Yongdap Station, the suspect's personal information was identified, and on the 29th of last month, Lee was arrested at his residence.



The police seized two micro cameras, external hard drives, and eight storage devices from Mr. Lee and are analyzing them.



He was arrested on the 31st of last month.



A police official said, "Even after handing over Mr. Lee to the prosecution tomorrow, if additional crimes are revealed in the seized items being analyzed, we plan to send them further."
