A 20-year-old soldier who was asleep in the driver's seat after getting drunk and driving a vehicle that was parked on the road was caught by the police.

The Seoul Gwanak Police Station announced today (4th) that they arrested a 25-year-old man A and handed it over to the Capital Defense Command on charges of vehicle theft, drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act, and non-action after the accident.

Person A is charged with stealing a black Starex vehicle that was temporarily stopped on Sinchon-ro, Seodaemun-gu, around 3:40 a.m. on the 29th of last month, and crashing into a parked vehicle and then fleeing.

After driving about 13km to Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu, a resident found him asleep in the parking lot at around 7:20 in the morning of the same day.

The police, who received a report that "the driver is sleeping in the vehicle and is suspected of driving under the influence," confirmed that it was the same vehicle as the wanted vehicle stolen from the Seodaemun Police Station.

After arresting Mr. A, the police measured his blood alcohol level, and the level exceeded the license revocation standard.

During the identification process, the police found out that Mr. A was a soldier belonging to the Subangsa and handed over the recruits to the military police force.
