Daughter Soyul in her arms after 3 years of marriage.
Soyul's nickname was 'Energizer'.
[Jeong Seop/Soyul’s father: I have a hard time going to the playground. If you ride the swing once, you ride for an hour, and on the slide, you ride for an hour… .]
But bad luck came all at once.
One year after his wife was diagnosed with cancer, Soyul, who was playing at a kids cafe, suffered a brain injury in an unexpected accident.
It happened when Soyul was 3 years old.
[Jeon Jeon-seop/Soyul's father: (After the accident) He asked, 'I can go to brain death, if that happens, are you thinking of donating a heart?' As long as my heart is beating, I will somehow save my
life.
But six months ago, my wife also passed away.
I had to work, so I needed someone to take care of me.
There was a care system for children with severe disabilities, but they could not find anyone because of concerns that they could become criminals due to the chronic shortage of manpower.
[Korea Disabled Parents Association: (Permanently) Because you have to remove phlegm or do something like that.
But in fact, even if we dispatch our caregivers, since this (such as 'suction') is a medical practice...
.]
I had to reduce my working hours to take care of Soyul, but thankfully, the boss didn't cut wages.
[CEO Jeon's workplace: Of course, you should take care of that convenience.
What I can do to keep my life alive, I have done the minimum.]
Soyul survived like a miracle for two years, but her condition deteriorated.
I was diagnosed at the hospital with less than 5% brain function remaining.
Soyul sent her heart and left and right kidneys to three sick friends on the 28th of last month and left her mother.
[Jeon Jeon/Soyul's father: Because I think that if the (transplanted) child is healthy again, our child's heart will not die and be alive.
That could be some comfort.]
Three organ donation recipients are recovering after a successful transplant operation.
