On the 1st of the next month, when the quarantine system is switched to a 'step-by-step recovery' (with Corona), the 12-15 year-olds (born 2006-2009) will be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Additional vaccinations (booster shots) for immunocompromised patients, such as leukemia patients, organ transplant patients, and those taking immunosuppressive drugs, will also begin on the same day.

A booster vaccination is to receive the vaccine as many times as recommended and then vaccinate again after a certain point in time to reinforce the prevention effect.

According to the Corona 19 Vaccination Response Team (Promotion Team) today (31st), vaccinations for 12 to 15-year-olds who started vaccination on the 18th will start from the 1st of the next month.

As of 00:00 yesterday, the reservation rate for 12-15 year olds is 26.4% (493,55 reservations), which is rather low.

12-15 year-olds who have made an appointment will receive Pfizer's vaccine at a consignment medical institution from the 1st to the 27th of the following month.

However, it remains to be seen whether or not it will affect the youth vaccination reservation rate as reports were reported to the quarantine authorities yesterday that a teenage male, presumed to be a high school senior, died after receiving the Corona 19 vaccine.

This teenager was reported to have died on the 27th of this month, 75 days after receiving the Pfizer vaccine on August 13th. The relationship has not yet been revealed."

The authorities recommend that children and adolescents with underlying diseases be vaccinated against COVID-19.

From the 1st of the next month, booster vaccinations for immunocompromised persons will also be provided.

Immunocompromised persons include leukemia patients, organ transplant patients, HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) patients, and patients receiving immunosuppressive drugs.

The authorities give booster vaccinations to immunocompromised persons who have been 2 months old after completing the primary vaccination.

In principle, the booster vaccination can be administered 6 months after the primary vaccination, but in the case of immunocompromised persons and Janssen inoculations, it is exceptionally possible to start after 2 months in consideration of the vaccination effect.

From the 8th of the next month, Janssen inoculations will start, and from the 10th of the same month, additional vaccinations will be given to hospitalized/residents and workers in nursing homes and facilities.

From the 15th of the next month, workers in hospitals or higher medical institutions, those in their 50s, those with underlying diseases, and the priority group (police, military, etc.) will receive additional vaccinations.

Previously, on the 12th and 30th, workers at the Corona 19 treatment hospital received additional vaccinations.

Those eligible for booster vaccination can check the type of vaccine to be vaccinated, such as Pfizer or Moderna, when making a reservation in advance.

Janssen vaccinated persons, those in their 50s, those with underlying diseases, and occupational groups with priority vaccinations may receive additional vaccinations with residual vaccines.

In the case of using residual vaccines at medical institutions, additional vaccinations are possible from the 1st of next month by using the preliminary list.

Additional vaccinations through the Naver/Kakao Social Network Service (SNS) same-day reservation will be available from the middle of next month.
