Today (October 26), the death of Roh Tae-woo, who served as the 13th president, is the death of the late former President Park Chung-hee.

Mr. Noh, who has suffered from cerebellar atrophy, a rare disease, has been hospitalized for a long time, but it is a rare coincidence that two former presidents passed away on the same day.

Former President Park died in 1979 after being shot by the then head of the Central Intelligence Agency, Kim Jae-gyu.

Former President Park also has a relationship with Mr. Roh. According to Mr. Roh Tae-woo's memoirs, Mr. Roh, who graduated from the Military Academy in 1955 and commissioned as a lieutenant, took over as platoon commander of the 5th Infantry Division the following year, at which time the division leader was former President Park.

After the death of former President Park, Roh, who was the commander of the 9th Division of the Army, led a military coup on December 12, 1979 as the core of the new military 'Hanahoe' forces led by Chun Doo-hwan, a classmate of the 11th Army.

Afterwards, former President Roh, who took office as the 13th president through a direct system, was recorded as the first elected president.
