On October 24, 1886, Grigory Ordzhonikidze (party nickname - Sergo) was born - a Russian revolutionary and statesman. As a supporter of the ideas of socialism, he was repeatedly arrested and persecuted by the authorities of the Russian Empire for his views and underground activities. After the October Revolution and the coming to power of the Bolsheviks, Ordzhonikidze headed the People's Commissariat of Heavy Industry and became one of the organizers of industrialization in the USSR.
