Reporter Kwan-Jin Kim, what is the current situation?

<Reporter>

Yes, it's been about 11 hours since the accident happened, but the police and firefighters who were working on the scene all withdrew, and as you can see, the building is in a state of being able to enter the ground floor.

However, the basement floor where the accident occurred is still not accessible.

Today (23rd), 19 people injured in an accident have been moved to 8 hospitals and are being treated.

The severity of symptoms varies from patient to patient, but fortunately, no injuries are known to be serious enough to cause additional deaths.

I hope the wounded recover quickly. But if someone intentionally opened the valve, wouldn't the situation be a little more serious?

<Reporter> When the

accident first occurred, there was a lot of talk about whether the fire detector malfunction was the cause.

However, as previously reported, the situation is turning around when a firefighter who has completed the on-site investigation confirmed that the manual valve that can release carbon dioxide is open.

As it is related to criminal charges, the police have launched an investigation, and through CCTV footage and worker statements, we are looking for who opened the manual valve.

If you find this person, it is expected that they will investigate in turn whether it was intentional or a mistake, and if it was intentional, for what reason.

The police and fire department are also planning to conduct a joint investigation on the spot, but it is expected to be done within a few days as soon as the National Forensic Service schedule is decided.

First of all, tomorrow, the fire department will visit the accident site and check if the firefighting equipment is working properly.
