Ahead of 'Halloween Day' (October 31), the government is strengthening quarantine management for facilities and areas that are expected to attract foreigners and young people.

The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (Corporate Headquarters) announced at a regular briefing on the 22nd that it had been reported and discussed with the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and the Ministry of Justice, 'Special quarantine inspection plan for restaurants and foreign residents in preparation for Halloween'. .

In this measure, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety decided to promote a special quarantine inspection for bars and entertainment facilities in areas where a large number of foreigners and young people are concentrated.

The special inspection will be conducted jointly by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, each local government, and the National Police Agency from the 27th to the 2nd of next month.

Bars and entertainment facilities in Seoul (Itaewon, Hongdae, Gangnam Station, Seocho Station), Incheon (Inha University, Bupyeong), Gyeonggi (Yongin, Suwon), and Busan (Seomyeon) are the main targets of inspection.

Considering the operational characteristics of pubs and entertainment facilities, we plan to intensively check at night from 8:00 pm to 12:00 pm when the number of users increases.

The government will check whether major quarantine rules are being followed, such as prohibition of gatherings, limiting operating hours, limiting the number of people at private gatherings, and wearing masks.

The Ministry of Justice will also conduct a special quarantine inspection for five days from the 27th to the 31st, focusing on areas with a large floating population of foreigners.

Gangnam, Seocho, Hongdae, and Itaewon will be jointly conducted with Seoul, and non-metropolitan areas will be inspected intensively in Ansan, Siheung, Pyeongtaek, Pocheon, Daejeon, Daegu, Gwangju, and Busan.

The government said that foreigners caught violating quarantine rules will be subject to strict measures, including forced eviction, in accordance with the zero tolerance principle.
