An elderly couple in their 80s was found dead in a house in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, and the police launched an investigation.

The Seoul Geumcheon Police Station found an 85-year-old man A and his 81-year-old wife B, respectively, at a villa in Siheung-dong around 6:50 pm on the 21st.

He knocked on the door, but there was no sign of popularity, so his son, who was contacted by the caregiver, opened the door and found her husband A at the entrance of the 3rd floor master bedroom and B in the living room on the 2nd floor, and reported it to the police.

As a result of on-the-spot forensics, it was confirmed that there were no suspicions of murder, such as traces of external intrusion.

Although Mr. B was partially undressed, the police believe that the possibility of a crime is low as there is no trauma to the couple's body.

The cause of death by the optometrist who examined the body was myocardial infarction.

However, the possibility of drug use is open, and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact circumstances, police said.

A police official said, "Currently, it is highly probable that the two of them died of natural causes, but we plan to precisely confirm it through an autopsy."

There are some cases in which nursing care between the elderly leads to extreme choices after killing, but a police official answered, "It is confirmed that caregivers have provided visiting services and they have tried to go to a nursing home."
