According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, a 2.4-magnitude earthquake occurred at 6:51 a.m. today (22nd) in an area 26 km south of Jecheon-si, Chungcheongbuk-do.

The depth of the epicenter was estimated to be 14 km.

The instrument seismic intensity (the intensity of vibration calculated from information based on the observed seismic intensity values and seismic waves) is a maximum of 3 in North Chungcheong where the earthquake occurred, a maximum of 2 in Gangwon and Gyeongbuk, and a maximum of 1 in the rest.

In the case of North Chungcheong, it means 'to the extent that people indoors, especially those on the upper floors of the building, feel the vibration and the stopped car shakes slightly', and in Gangwon and Gyeongbuk it means 'the degree to which a small number of people in a quiet place or on the upper floor of a building feel the vibration'. .

Seismic intensity 1 refers to the degree to which vibrations are not felt by most people, but are recorded by seismographs.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said, "Earthquake motion must have been felt near the place where the earthquake occurred."
