In connection with the incident where two employees of a company in Seocho-gu, Seoul, lost consciousness after drinking bottled water on the 18th, a poisonous substance mixed with bottled water was presumed to be 'sodium azide'. It was confirmed that not only 'sodium azide' but also 'methanol' were found in the employee's home.

'Sodium azide' is mainly used as a raw material for agricultural pesticides and fungicides, but it dissolves well in water and has no special color.

'Methanol' is a toxic substance that causes blindness even if you drink even a small amount, and death if you drink a large amount.

Prior to this incident, on the 10th, another employee of the company collapsed from drinking soda, and it was confirmed that 'sodium azide' was detected in this soda.

At that time, it was known that the company commissioned a specialized agency to analyze the ingredients in the carbonated beverage.

Police have booked an employee found dead at home on suspicion of special injuries and are investigating the motive for the crime.
