Apple unveils its AirPods 3 headphones
Apple hosted its second event this month to reveal the highly anticipated AirPods 3.
The wireless earbuds feature a new surround design and Adaptive EQ, allowing users to hear music as it was recorded, no matter how the inner ear changes the music.
AirPods 3 are water- and sweat-resistant, have a battery life of up to six hours — nearly 40 minutes longer than their predecessor — and the charging case provides up to 30 hours of power.
The new earbuds cost $179, a $50 increase over the second generation, with pre-orders open and shipping starting next week.
Like the AirPods Pro, the new AirPods are equipped with a force sensor, but now include a new low-distortion driver for powerful bass and clear highs.
AirPods will now support spatial audio to "create something truly multi-dimensional," providing "a completely new way to experience music."

The new AirPods design is lightweight, contoured to fit the ear, and has a shorter extension than the previous generation.
The microphone is now covered with an acoustic grille to help reduce wind noise, so that the speaker's voice is clearly visible in calls.
The new wireless headphones feature a new skin-detection sensor that lets the device know when it's in each ear.
Users can now choose between fun colors such as yellow, blue and orange, in addition to previously available shades of gray, black and white.
The tech giant is also giving Siri more power in Apple Music, by letting customers access the entire music library with their own voice.
The new Voice Plan works for just $4.99 a month, half the cost of a personal membership, and will be available in 17 countries later this year.
