1,73 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 yesterday.



It is the first time in three months since the beginning of July that the number of confirmed cases has decreased to this level, with the number of confirmed cases at 1,000 for two days in a row.



Excluding 25 imported cases, 1,48 people were infected in Korea.



By region, 777 cases were confirmed in the metropolitan area, and 271 cases were confirmed in non-metropolitan areas as well.



The number of critically ill patients decreased by one from the previous day to 344, and the death toll increased by 21, resulting in a total of 2,689 deaths.



Until yesterday, 44.7 million people, or 78.8% of the population, had been vaccinated, of which 620,000 were added in one day, increasing to 33.81 million, or 65.9% of the total population.



The quarantine authorities said that when analyzing the trend of corona infection, the tendency to decrease rather than spread further is becoming clear, and it seems to be the effect of vaccination.



Vaccinations for 16- and 17-year-olds, which started yesterday, were booked by 490,000 people, more than half of the total.



Until the 13th of next month, you will receive two Pfizer vaccines at 3-week intervals.



From 8 o'clock last night, pre-booking for vaccinations for 12 to 15 years old, 6th graders of elementary school to 3rd graders of middle school is in progress.
