A tugboat and barge overturned and stranded in the sea near Sapsido, Boryeong-si, Chungcheongnam-do, and two people were rescued, and one was missing.



The Boryeong Coast Guard said today (16th) at 2:50 pm, the 26t class tug with two crew members overturned and the 358t class barge with one crew member was stranded.



The Coast Guard immediately dispatched a 300-ton patrol boat and rescue team to rescue a man in his 70s from a drifting tugboat, and rescued a man in his 70s who was aboard the barge by helicopter.



However, another 70-year-old captain, who was on the tugboat, disappeared, and seven security ships and aircraft were deployed to conduct a night search.



A wind advisory is in effect as of 8:00 p.m. in the Sea of ​​Sapsido, the sea area near the accident, with strong winds of 15 m/s and high waves of 3 to 4 m per second.



The Coast Guard believes that the accident occurred while the capsized tugboat departed from Incheon Port at 8 am yesterday morning and was drifting through Boryeong Sea due to engine failure.
