It was belatedly confirmed that Prosecutor General Oh-su Kim worked as an advisory lawyer in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do for about five months before the appointment of the president.

President Kim worked as an advisor in Seongnam City from December last year to May last year, but it is known that he was appointed and dismissed as the Prosecutor General.

Seongnam-si's advisory lawyers are about 10 people who provide 4-5 cases of legal advice every month and receive an allowance of about 300,000 won.

When the controversy broke out, President Kim said through the Supreme Prosecutor's Office, "The fact that I was appointed as an advisor to Seongnam City, where I had been living for more than 10 years as a local volunteer from December 1, 2020 to May 7, 2021, after finishing my public office as a lawyer at a law firm. There is,” he explained.

President Kim explained, “At the time, 15 advisors were appointed in Seongnam City. I did.

"It has nothing to do with the Daejang-dong incident," he added, adding, "I have already directed the chief of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office to conduct a swift and thorough investigation, regardless of the status of the opposition parties."

However, some believe that President Kim's act of directing the investigation may cause a conflict of interest.
