A man in his 20s was arrested by the police after threatening to kidnap his ex-girlfriend saying that he would 'distribute the video' and then imprisoned him in a car or motel for over 19 hours.



The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that they arrested a man in his 20s on charges of kidnapping and detaining his ex-lover at a motel in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul around 11 am today (15th).



A is charged with kidnapping and detaining a woman in her twenties, B, who was in a romantic relationship in front of a restaurant in Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, at around 3:30 pm the day before, threatening to 'distribute the video'.



Person A, who kidnapped Mr. B by a car, moved from Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk to Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do, and it is said that he moved to Gangnam-gu, Seoul when he saw a police officer interrogating him.



Afterwards, A detained victim B in a motel in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, and stayed with him.



As a result of the police investigation, it was confirmed that Mr. A had previously threatened to "distribute the video" to victim B, and was being investigated at the Suseo Police Station in Seoul.



An official from the Gyeongbuk Yeongdeok Police Station, who took over Mr. A, said, "We plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident and the motive of the crime against the suspect."
