An otter, a first-class endangered wildlife, was discovered in a river in downtown Sejong.

The National Institute of Ecology received a report in May that there were traces of otters inhabiting the trails along the Jecheon River and conducted a detailed investigation.

At least two or more appeared every three or four days.

In particular, the scene where two adult otters, presumed to be family members, walk together is eye-catching.

Scenes were also filmed in which they search for food in a river or defecate on a specific rock several times to mark their territory, the Ministry of Environment explained.

An official from the National Institute of Ecology said, "Otters are a key species that plays a decisive role in maintaining the river ecosystem

.

Netizens commented, “If the otter family is to live long in the river, it will need the efforts of citizens in the future.”, “The cute otter is on the verge of extinction…

Let’s find a way to coexist even now.”
