54 people, including patients and staff, were confirmed at a nursing hospital where a Chinese male caregiver hid the fact that he tested positive for COVID-19 and worked.

Health authorities have filed a complaint against the caregiver, who is in her 60s.

According to the health authorities today (14th), a total of 54 people, including 39 patients and 15 employees, were confirmed with Corona 19 at A Nursing Hospital in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province.

When one nursing assistant affiliated with this nursing hospital was confirmed positive on the 10th, 24 people on the 12th, 27 people on the 13th, and 2 people today were additionally confirmed as confirmed cases during the complete examination.

However, it was revealed during the follow-up process by the health authorities that a Chinese nurse in her 60s, B, was confirmed before the nursing assistant.

B was tested twice at the Yeongdeungpo Public Health Center on the 5th and 6th, and the first was negative and the second was positive.

The Yeongdeungpo Public Health Center informed Mr. B of the confirmation by phone on the 7th, when the results of the second test came out, but he explained that there was no contact after that.

The whereabouts of Mr. B was confirmed during the complete examination of A nursing hospital.

It was revealed that on the day of receiving the confirmation notice, he only gave the first negative confirmation to A nursing hospital and found a job.

The Yeongdeungpo Public Health Center reported Mr. B to the police for violating the Management Act on the Prevention and Management of Infectious Diseases.

The confirmed cases of this nursing hospital came only from the 4th floor where B worked.

Accordingly, the health authorities have pointed to B as the route of this convalescent hospital cluster infection.

Health authorities are conducting epidemiological investigations such as quarantining the hospital in the same group and identifying the movements of the confirmed patients.

So far, 43 of the confirmed patients have completed the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and it is estimated that there are many breakthrough infections.
