The investigation was suspended after a confirmed case of COVID-19 occurred at the Seoul Detention Center.



According to the Ministry of Justice, a new inmate who entered the Seoul Detention Center yesterday (12th) tested positive today in a gene amplification (PCR) test conducted immediately after admission.



The prisoner was negative in the rapid antigen test performed before the PCR test.



After conducting an epidemiological investigation with the quarantine authorities, the Seoul Detention Center conducted a PCR test on staff and inmates suspected of having had contact with a confirmed prisoner.



In addition, most of the investigations and court appearances scheduled for this afternoon have been canceled except in unavoidable cases.



Yoo Dong-gyu, a former head of the planning division of Seongnam Urban Development Corporation, who was being investigated under arrest on charges of bribery and breach of trust, was also scheduled to appear at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office this afternoon, but the investigation was canceled due to the outbreak of the corona virus.
