A social worker accused of abusing and killing a disabled person has been handed over to the prosecution under detention.

The Incheon Yeonsu Police Station announced that it had sent a social worker A from a welfare facility for the disabled in Incheon to the prosecution on the morning of the 13th on charges of abuse and death.

Person A is accused of forcing food to a disabled person in his twenties at a welfare facility for the disabled where he works in August, causing him to die.

The National Forensic Research Institute delivered the findings that the body was presumed to be asphyxiation due to airway obstruction as a result of the autopsy.

On August 23rd, SBS received CCTV of the incident from the bereaved family and reported it exclusively.

CCTV footage of alleged abuse, such as A and other social workers feeding food while holding the shoulder of the victim with their arms, was captured on CCTV.

The police also booked the director of the social welfare facility on charges of manslaughter and negligence and are investigating.

In addition, a total of four people, including three social workers and one social service worker, are also being investigated by the police for violating the Welfare Act for the Disabled.

The police said that they plan to send all five of them to the prosecution after conducting a reinforcement investigation.
