An SUV was caught passing the highway high-pass lane without permission about 1,400 times, recording the highest amount in arrears in the country.

Yesterday (12th), the Gangwon Headquarters of the Korea Expressway Corporation announced that they had cracked down on cars that habitually delinquent tolls on the highway near the Gasan Sales Office of the Road Corporation in Chilgok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, around 10 am on the 30th of last month.

According to the Road Corporation, the owner, Mr. A, used the highway high-pass lane without permission for 1 year and 6 months without a high-pass balance.

A total of 1,391 cases of toll arrears, and the amount of arrears of 35 million won, recorded the highest number of delinquency cases and arrears in the country.

Of the 35 million won in arrears, the toll that Mr. A did not actually pay was 4 million won, and the remaining 31 million won was found to be a penalty levied for non-payment of the toll.

The delinquency enforcement team at the Gangwon Headquarters of the Road Corporation is known to have cracked down on the vehicle after tracing the movement path of Mr. A for the past several months.

A's car was forcibly delivered on the day of the crackdown.

The delinquency enforcement team plans to settle the unpaid tolls by selling the vehicle as soon as possible.

This is a 'news pick'.
