Two temporary workers who worked on a Colissimo platform in Seine-et-Marne were arrested for the theft of around sixty packages.

The latter exchanged the labels stuck on the packages in order to have them sent to another address.

The loss of the case is estimated at 100,000 euros.

Package thefts are rife, but this time the thieves have struck a big blow.

In Seine-et-Marne, 100,000 euros of packages were stolen from the Colissimo platform.

Four suspects were arrested: two temporary workers from the Montereau-sur-le-Jard post office, as well as two accomplices.

It all started with the discovery of a package unlike any other that raised the alarm.

A reconditioned package, found in this sorting center with plenty of other small packages inside.

After an internal investigation, the services of La Poste discovered that two temporary workers hijacked them in a very simple and very effective way.

About sixty packages concerned

The latter in fact removed the barcode that allows the package to be tracked, replaced it with another with a different address, where the stolen packages arrived and were stored.

It is precisely in this accommodation that one of the temporary workers was arrested.

It actually belongs to a person in a wheelchair to whom the respondent was providing care, while using his basement as a storage place.

The police notably found barbecues, computers and childcare equipment.

Since the start of the year, around sixty packages have been stolen for damage of at least 100,000 euros, including 70,000 to the detriment of Fnac, whose customers increasingly complained of not receiving their goods.

All these objects were then sold to contacts.

Another man is also implicated for concealment.

He is in his thirties, like the two temporary workers.
