(USB-IF) has announced the
new logos with which USB Type-C cables can be distinguished according to their power
, a change that follows the announcement in May of the increase of this capacity
to 240 watts (W)
.
The new logos have been designed so that consumers
can distinguish the power of the USB Type-C cable they purchase in the market
, with options from 60W to 240W, as the organization reported in a statement.
As can be seen in the image below, these USB ports
should visually indicate in a logo the data transfer speed of the cable
.
As an example, the image shows the logo design for transfer speeds of 5GB per second, 10GB per second, and 20GB per second.
In May, USB-IF announced an increase in the charging power of USB Type-C from 100W to 240W in the 2.1 update of its standard, allowing you to charge laptops, larger monitors, printers and
other devices that require that voltage
.
Along with this announcement, the consortium has also presented the logos for USB 4, based on
Thunderbolt
and with
transfer
rates
of up to 40 Gbps
.
