The number of first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in Korea exceeded 40 million today (11th).

This is the record set on the 228th day since the inoculation started on February 26th.

According to the Corona 19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team (Promotion Team), the cumulative number of people who received the first dose of the vaccine was 40,6549 as of 4 pm today.

This corresponds to 77.9% of the total population (51,349,116 people as of December last year).

The level of vaccination is 90.6% when considering only those over 18 years of age, the target age for vaccination.

The number of people who completed all vaccinations according to the recommended number of vaccines was 35,9210, or 59.6% of the population.

Since the first vaccination for 18-49 year olds was completed on the last 2 days, the number of first-line vaccinations is increasing by thousands or at most tens of thousands of people a day.

Currently, non-vaccinated people over the age of 18 and foreign workers who have never been vaccinated against COVID-19 are receiving the first dose, and from the 18th, pregnant women and 16-17 year olds will receive the first dose.

The promotion team said, "Thanks to the public's high interest and active participation, we are gradually moving towards a gradual recovery of daily life. Thank you to all the people who participated."
