Prosecutors have launched an investigation into Kwak Sang-do, an independent member of the Democratic Party of Korea, who has been accused of publicizing false information about presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung and taking bribes.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office today (27th) distributed the case in which Lee Jae-myung's camp accused Kwak of violating the Public Official Election Act to the 2nd Public Investigation Division (Prosecutor Kim Kyung-geun).

The 2nd Public Investigation Division is investigating the case in which the Lee Jae-myung camp accused Kim Ki-hyeon, floor leader of the People's Strength, and others.

In the complaint letter, the Lee Jae-myung camp claimed, "Rep. Kwak posted an article on SNS to the effect that 'Lee Jae-myung illegally proceeded with the Daejang-dong development project and obtained unfair profits.'"

Earlier, Rep. Kwak posted on his SNS, "Governor Jae-myung Lee, who took the most money of 500 billion won from the development project and designed the profit-sharing structure, is the true owner of the Daejang-dong development project."

Rep. Kwak has announced that he will take legal action against the accusation of the Lee Jae-myung camp, saying, "It seems to be an innocence."

The Economic Crimes and Criminal Department (Prosecutor Kyung-pil Yoo) started an investigation into the 5 billion won that Kwak's son received in the name of severance pay.

The Economic Crimes Criminal Department is also in charge of accusations, including ex-Chief Justice Kwon Soon-il's post-approval.

Each department that receives the complaint plans to review the contents, investigate the complainant, etc., and secure the necessary evidence.
