Two MBC reporters accused of impersonating a police officer in the process of covering the wife of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol have been sent to the prosecution.

On the 23rd, the Gyeonggi Northern Police Agency's Violent Crime Investigation Team announced that they had sent MBC reporter A and video producer B to the prosecution without detention on charges of impersonating public officials.

However, the charge of coercion was not appealed (disposition of no charges).

Previously, they are accused of impersonating the police by visiting Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do, where Kim's advisor lived, and talking to the owner of the car parked in front of the address during the process of investigating the doctoral thesis of Kim Gun-hee, the wife of former President Yoon.

The former president's side reported the reporters to the police, saying, "It was a matter of obtaining information after questioning ordinary citizens by impersonating the police.

On the other hand, through a personnel announcement on the 10th of last month, MBC issued a disciplinary punishment of 6 months for reporter A and 6 months for video producer B, respectively.

In addition, after the personnel announcement was made, the company released data and said, "The reporters independently decided on the method of coverage."
