An attempted robbery in her 40s who targeted a single female shopper in the underground parking lot of a department store was also sentenced to prison in the appeals court.

The 7th Criminal Division of the Seoul High Court (Chief Judge Kang Kyung-pyo and Bae Jeong-hyeon) sentenced 47-year-old A, who was charged with attempted robbery, to one year and six months in prison, the same as the first trial.

A is accused of invading the back seat of a 39-year-old woman B's car, who was about to leave after shopping alone in the underground parking lot of a department store in Gangnam, Seoul on the afternoon of February 17, threatening B and trying to steal money.

Mr. A pulled Mr. B's hair and threatened, "If you scream, you will die." Mr. B opened the car door and ran away, only trying.

As a result of the investigation, it is known that Mr. A had a lot of debt, and in order to solve this, he tried to withdraw money by stealing money from a woman who came to a department store alone or by finding a credit card password.

The court of first instance sentenced A to 1 year and 6 months in prison, saying, "The crime method is bold, such as threatening to break into the victim's car in the underground parking lot of a department store." I want it,” he said.

However, it was stated that the sentence would be decided in consideration of the fact that Mr. A admitted and reflected on the crime and deposited a certain amount of money, and that the crime was only attempted.

Person A appealed that the sentence was heavy, but the judgment of the second trial court was the same.
