Let's go to Geoje Island, Gyeongsangnam-do, where typhoon Chantu is expected to pass in a little while. We will connect with reporters on the spot.

Reporter Hong Seung-yeon, please tell us about the situation there.

<Reporter>

I am now in Oepo Port, Geoje City, Gyeongnam.

There was not much rain until morning, so it was relatively calm.

As the typhoon approaches Geoje, it is raining like this now.

There is also a strong wind such as a gust of wind that makes it difficult to walk outside.

Also, as you can see behind me, the fishing boats evacuated here are also swaying in the wind and rain.

A typhoon warning has been issued centered on the southern coastal areas such as Geoje, Namhae, and Goseong, but a typhoon warning has been issued in the far seas of the South Sea.

As a typhoon approaches, there is a possibility that the typhoon warning will be extended to nearby areas.

The typhoon is expected to be closest to Geoje at around 3 pm, about an hour later.

Although the typhoon's path has descended further south than expected, strong winds of 20 to 30 m/s are expected around the Gyeongnam coast, and the waves are expected to be high.

In addition, there are places where it rains 30mm per hour on the coast during the day, and it can fall 30~80mm, up to 120mm in some places.

Access to fishing port facilities such as breakwaters and marine leisure facilities is completely controlled.

In particular, you should refrain from entering the beach around 3 o'clock in the direct impact zone, and pay special attention to damage caused by flooding.
