Controversy over so-called 'unconceptual parking', which causes inconvenience by parking a vehicle in a non-designated parking space, continues in Incheon.

Recently, in an officetel parking lot in Incheon, an article about foreign cars habitually parked in front of a pedestrian entrance has spread online, causing outrage.

According to the internet community 'Bobae Dream' today (16th), yesterday afternoon, an article titled 'Please look at the foreign car owner of Bupyeong, Incheon' was posted on the bulletin board.

The author uploaded three photos of a foreign car stopped in front of a pedestrian entrance in the parking lot on the 2nd basement floor of an officetel in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon.

He said, "I haven't parked the car for a few days, but I've been driving it every day and parking it in that spot." He said, "This is the only passageway for people to come and go." There are a lot of seats even if you just go there," he posted.

On this post posted by the author, there were over 130 comments criticizing the owner, saying, "I can't pass a wheelchair or a stroller."

The officetel management office has recently responded by sending in parking management personnel as complaints about the vehicle have been repeatedly received.

However, not only this time, but recently, in Incheon, there have been several cases of complaints of inconvenience caused by 'unconceptual parking'.

Last May, at an apartment complex in Yeonsu-gu, the owner of a Mercedes-Benz car parked in the roadway posted a threatening memo stating that he should not put a parking violation warning sticker. Controversy has arisen over parking by occupying all at once or parking a vehicle on the aisle.

According to the current Road Traffic Act, the passageway or parking lot inside the apartment is private land that does not correspond to a road, so administrative measures cannot be enforced.

In this regard, on the 31st of last month, Rep. Moon Jin-seok of the Democratic Party of Korea belonging to the National Assembly Land Transport Committee proposed a partial amendment to the Parking Lot Act to prevent the problem of illegal parking occurring in the parking lot of apartment complexes.

The amended bill allows the management entity to request compulsory measures from the administrative agency if the parking order is violated, such as blocking the entrance to the public housing parking lot or parking outside the designated parking area.
