While the spread of COVID-19 in Korea continues, the number of new confirmed cases soared to 2,000 again today (15th).



The Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters (Bangdaebon) announced that as of 00:00 today, the number of new confirmed cases increased by 2,80, to a cumulative total of 277,989.



The number of people increased by 583 from yesterday (1,497 people), and it rose to the 2,000 level again in 6 days after the 9th (2,49 people).



This is the 8th record of 2,000 people since the outbreak of the COVID-19 crisis in Korea.



In terms of scale, it is the fourth after the 11th (2,221 people), the 25th (2,154 people) and the 19th (2,152 people) of last month.



Due to the decrease in the number of tests on weekends and holidays, the number of confirmed cases was relatively small until the beginning of the week, but the weekly pattern of a sharp increase from Wednesday, the starting point in the middle, was also observed this week.



If you look at the route of infection of the new confirmed cases today, 2,57 local cases and 23 cases are imported.



The 4th pandemic, which started in the metropolitan area in early July, has been going on for well over two months.



The number of daily confirmed cases has been recording four digits for 71 days in a row since July 7 (1,211 people).



In particular, a total of 1,656 (80.5%) were counted in the metropolitan area, including 804 in Seoul, 688 in Gyeonggi, and 164 in Incheon.



As Seoul recorded the first 800 people, the number of confirmed cases in the metropolitan area set a record for the most since the Corona 19 incident in Korea.



The proportion of the metropolitan area in the total regional outbreaks stood at 70% for five days in a row until the previous day, and then exceeded 80% on the same day.
