A police officer on his way to work early in the morning found an elderly man in his 80s next door who had collapsed and prevented a major accident.

According to the Gangwon National Police Agency on the 13th, Inspector Ahn Jung-hyeok, who lives in an apartment in Masters-dong, Chuncheon-si, was on his way to work at around 6:30 am on the 8th, and rescued an elderly woman who collapsed near a shoe rack in the front door of the house next door.

Inspector Ahn was on his way to work when he found that the house next door had the front door open and only the screen was closed.

Inspector Ahn tried to pass by because the neighbor grandmother ventilated the room or when it was hot, the front door was often opened and only the screen was closed.

Inspector Ahn found the collapsed grandmother and immediately called his wife and took her inside.

Fortunately, there were no symptoms of stiffness or cold hands and feet, and there were no visible injuries.

After shaking it several times, the grandmother gradually regained consciousness, and although she usually showed mild symptoms of dementia, fortunately, she was said to have answered questions well.

Inspector Ahn later informed the grandmother's daughter who lived upstairs that the grandmother had collapsed.

It was found that the grandmother went out the night before relying on a walking aid and returned home.

Inspector Ahn said, "I have lived as a neighbor for 20 years and watched closely, but I felt particularly anxious that day.

On the afternoon of the 13th, on the 'Let's Praise' bulletin board on the Gangwon Police Agency's website, the grandmother's granddaughter left a message titled 'Thank you, Uncle Ahn Jung-hyuk'. The granddaughter expressed her gratitude, saying, "I was able to avoid a major accident thanks to the fact that the front door was open even on the busy way to work and looked inside."

This is a 'news pick'.
