Seoul Subway Euljiro 4-ga Station (Lines 2 and 5) and Yeoksam Station (Line 2) are now called 'BC Card Station' and 'Center Field Station', respectively.

Seoul Transportation Corporation announced today (9th) that it sold Euljiro 4-ga Station to BC Card and Yeoksam Station to Shinsegae for a fee.

Euljiro 4-ga Station was sold for 707 million won over three years, and Yeoksam Station for three years at 705 million won.

According to this contract, 'BC Card Station' and 'Centerfield Station' will be marked and displayed along with the existing station names in a total of 10 places including information boards outside the station, station name boards at the platform, and train announcements.

The station name ordnance work is expected to be completed by next month at the latest.

Station name arranging is the payment of a fee from businesses, institutions, schools, etc. located in the vicinity of the subway station and allows the station name to be used next to the existing subway station name.

Currently, 26 stations including Jonggak Station on Line 1 (SC First Bank Station), Guro Digital Complex Station on Line 2 (Wonkwang Digital University Station), and Seodaemun Station on Line 5 (Gangbuk Samsung Hospital Station) are included.

Seoul Transportation Corporation re-launched the station name weapon project after 5 years as it fell into financial difficulties, such as recording a deficit of more than 1 trillion won last year due to reduced transportation revenue due to COVID-19.

In addition to Euljiro 4-ga Station and Yeoksam Station, Seoul Transportation Corporation held an open bid to find operators who would sign a contract for station names such as Nowon Station (Lines 4 and 7), Ttukseom Station (Line 2), Balsan Station (Line 5), and Naebang Station (Line 7). proceeded.

To participate in the bidding, you must be located within 500 meters of the station and pass the deliberation committee in which the construction internal and external deliberation members participate. The successful bidder can use the name of the institution of his choice as the sub-station name for 3 years.

As a result of the bidding, all stations except for Euljiro 4-ga Station and Yeoksam Station were bid. In the case of Balsan Station, there were no organizations participating in the bidding, and in the case of internal quarantine, there was an administrative error such as submitting documents incorrectly by the relevant organization. The organizations that participated in the bid for Nowon Station did not pass the deliberation.

An official from the Seoul Transportation Corporation said, "We are discussing whether to proceed with the third public contest for the remaining stations that have not been able to find a buyer."

This is a 'news pick'.
