Just before the general election last year, an informant who informed the media that he had received a telegram messenger and a complaint against passport personnel from Rep.

This is a request for identity protection, saying that the informant's own public interest reporting may be infringed by Rep. Kim and others.

In addition, it is known that he submitted the telegram messenger captures and the informant's own cell phone to the Supreme Prosecutor's Office.

Whistleblowers who have become public interest whistleblowers will now be protected from disclosure of their identity.

The reason the informant chose the prosecution, not the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, as the public interest reporting agency is interpreted as wishing for a speedy investigation into the case.

This public interest report may speed up the prosecution's movement.

The fact-finding investigation by the Supreme Prosecutor's Office has limitations in the subjects and methods of investigation, but with the public interest report as an opportunity, it was possible to quickly switch to an investigation.

Accordingly, it is expected that an investigation will be conducted on Rep. Kim, a key figure who will investigate the allegations, including Prosecutor Son Jun-seong, who was accused of delivering a letter of indictment to Rep. Kim.

Forced investigation may also be mobilized if necessary.

After the Supreme Prosecutor's Office conducts a fact-finding investigation, the subject of the investigation may change depending on which charges are applied.

If it is determined that former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol or Prosecutor Son Jun-seong were colluding with each other for the purpose of influencing the general election, the prosecution may launch its own investigation into charges of violating the Public Official Election Act.

However, if they are accused of abuse of power, the case should be forwarded to the high-ranking public officials' crime investigation office and air traffic control department.

The Public Service, which received the complaint from a civic group, also started to understand the basic facts, but for the time being, the prosecution is expected to conduct a fact-finding investigation.
