At around 6:40 pm today (the 5th), a report was received that smoke filled the basement dining area of Jongno Tower in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
No one was injured, but 31 people, including customers and staff, were evacuated.
The fire department was dispatched and searched the basement of the building, but could not find a fire, and the situation ended around 8 pm.
Police and fire departments believe the smoke was caused by overheating of the air conditioning room on the first basement floor and are investigating the exact cause.
