<Anchor> With the

college entrance exam approaching, suspicions arose that the song for the entrance exam performance test was leaked before the official announcement at the Yonsei University College of Music.

The school changed the entrance exam song in a hurry, but if the leak is true, it is a serious problem.

This song is Paganini's Grand Practice No. 4 on the list of composers.

It was presented as an entrance exam song for the piano department of Yonsei University in 2022.

The piano department announces entrance exam songs in early September every year.

After giving applicants time to practice for four months, successful candidates are selected through a performance test in January of the following year.

However, the day before this year's entrance exam song was released, a strange article was posted in the piano major entrance exam chat room.

[Piano Department Applicant: Someone spoke in the Kakao Talk open chat room. I know Yonsei University's entrance exam song in advance.]

A participant posted a hint about the entrance exam song, such as the composer's name.

The entrance exam song released by the school the next day was exactly what Mr. A said.

It was a song by composer 'List', and it was Paganini's Grand Practice No. 4, starting with a 32-note note.

[Choi Jong-yeol / Music College Admissions Site Manager: (Among many composers) The point I spoke of the list accurately, from here on, it goes into a decimal point, not even a 1% probability. A song with 32 quarter notes, like finding a needle in the desert.]

Being able to know the song in advance and have more time to practice is a huge privilege for music students.

If so, who can know what the entrance exam song is before the announcement?

The songs for entrance exams are decided by the piano professors during the summer vacation.

Songs that have been decided are delivered directly to the administrative staff in charge without going through a teaching assistant.

Only professors and a small number of administrative staff can know the song ahead of time.

Yonsei University established a fact-finding committee to check the facts, and changed the entrance exam song and announced it.

However, the student's side filed a complaint with the ACRC, saying that an external investigation is necessary.

In 2015, at the Korea National University of Arts, a vocal music professor was dismissed after receiving probation for leaking an entrance exam song in advance.

At the time, the court pointed out that it is a "crime that causes the students to lose their expectations for being rewarded by fair competition and hard work."
