Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon clarified the recently controversial remarks about the Pi City project with the purpose of 'mistaking it because the project was canceled and the license itself was not granted'.

In fact, the Pi City project failed after the license was granted, but they mistakenly remembered and said, 'The project failed and the license was not granted.'

On the morning of the 2nd, Mayor Oh received a related question from the city council's municipal administration question and said, "(Last month, 31st) I got a report on what documents I took after the police raid and search, and after thinking about it, I remembered a little bit about the business. Eventually, they ran aground and collapsed,” he said.

He continued, "So, for me, 'Picity' remains a business that didn't work," he added.

Mayor Oh's controversial remarks came out of a candidate debate on April 5, two days before the Seoul mayor's by-election.

At that time, Mayor Oh, who was a candidate for the People's Strength Seoul mayor, made a statement contrary to the facts, saying, "As far as I remember, Pi City was not a matter that was approved during my tenure."

After the election, officials from civic groups including Jin-geol Ahn, director of the People's Livelihood Economic Research Institute, filed a complaint, claiming that the remarks were false statements under the Public Official Election Act.

Mayor Oh said, "If it was a search and seizure to identify the allegations listed in the warrant, it is an unnecessary search and seizure." He criticized the police investigation.

He also emphasized, "If it was discovered that those who worked as my subordinates at the time (city hall officials) were punished and treated illegally, I can't remember, but no one was punished."
