A driver in Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, was caught by a citizen while running with his dog hanging outside the truck, and is subject to police investigation.

According to the animal rescue group WeAct, on the 27th of last month, on a four-lane road in Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do, a citizen was caught dragging a dog hanging outside of a running truck.

According to eyewitness testimony, it was a Jindo dog mix puppy estimated to be about 5 to 6 months old, and it was reported that there was a lot of blood in the four legs.

The truck is said to have stopped and run repeatedly with a dog hanging next to the driver's seat.

When a citizen who witnessed the incident approached the dog to help, the truck driver suddenly picked up the dog and threw it into the driver's seat, it is said that he ran away.

On the 30th of last month, WeAct announced the incident through SNS and released a video of the vehicle's black box.

In the video, a small dog was tied to the driver's seat of a truck and towed.

The dog was tied between the front and rear wheels of the truck, so there was a risk of being crushed by the wheels.

In response, Wiact visited the North Pohang Police Station on the 1st and charged the truck driver with animal cruelty.

Truck driver A is known to have stated to the effect that "it was a mistake" during the police investigation, saying that the dog he was carrying in the truck just fell over while driving.

If dog abuse is admitted, Mr. A is expected to face up to 3 years in prison or a fine of 3 million won or less according to the Animal Protection Act revised earlier this year.
