<Anchor> As the number of

delivery orders increases and competition intensifies, the dangerous speed of motorcycles has increased significantly.

Hundreds of people were caught only during the police crackdown at lunchtime, and reporter Hong Seung-yeon visited the crackdown site.

<Reporter> A

motorcycle that was driving on the road climbs up to the sidewalk.

He stopped to deliver food, but was caught by the police.

[Uh, get it over there!] A

motorcycle driver who dangerously interrupts the front of the car will be fined 20,000 won.

[Motorcycle driver: (You are not allowed to drive between cars and you are not allowed to cut in.) I have a lot of insurance, can you please take a look?] The

driver complains that he is in a hurry because of the tight delivery time.

[Motorcycle driver: What happened? It's like going fast. It's still too late.] With the

large increase in orders for food delivery, the police are cracking down on them every day because of the illegal speeding of motorcycles.

Only during lunchtime, when deliveries are rushing, 329 cases were caught in the jurisdiction of the Gyeonggi Southern Police Agency.

Signal violations were the most common, followed by failure to wear safety equipment.

[Kwon Yong-woong/Director of Traffic Safety Section, Gyeonggi Nambu Police Agency: Two-wheeled vehicles account for only 6.4% of the total number of vehicles, but the proportion of fatal accidents is 18%, which is a serious situation.]

The crackdown alone cannot completely stop the dangerous run of delivery drivers who are being chased every minute and second.

We also need to improve the delivery company system, which evaluates drivers with speed over safety, and consumers' generous minds, who will tolerate late delivery to some extent if they are satisfied with the quality of the food.
