WHY TORCUATO?

The decoration of the terrace is the work of Pepe Leal's studio.

The chosen place has a lot of history.

López de Salaverry built this architectural ensemble that today is commercial at the end of the 19th century for the magazine

Blanco y Negro

, with a facade on Serrano Street.

It was extended in 1926, reaching the Paseo de la Castellana, a work by Aníbal González signed by Anasagasti.

And in 1932 a third building called intermediate was built.

This past as the headquarters of Prensa Española, editor of

ABC

, has a nod in the name chosen for the project.

"We have always liked that it was not just marketing.

We wanted it to reflect the memory of the place

, and that is why we chose to honor the journalist Torcuato Luca de Tena, founder of the magazine

Blanco y Negro

", says Talavera, convinced that there was no better name.

Due to location, commercial offer and size of the space, La Fábrica Group believes that this terrace will be a success in the

rentrée

so that the return to obligations becomes more bearable.

"We commissioned

the design to the Pepe Leal studio

. And we are delighted to have done so, as it has managed to enhance the building's leading classical architecture, respect the environment and make it more pleasant by giving it a modern touch with a groundbreaking point".

At the same time, it makes the garden look like an orchard.

KITCHEN AND COCKTAIL

Chef Sergio Fernández, from Canal Cocina, is in charge of a gastro proposal focused on the "raw bar" concept.

The

gastronomic section

is the axis of the project, although in Torcuato more is billed for cocktails than for traditional cocktails. The quality policy is central, says Talavera. It is signed by the television chef Sergio Fernández (Canal Cocina). "The block of nigiris and makis is spectacular, and the grilled artichokes with Iberian bacon and

foie

are also among the dishes that come out the most together with the

beef tenderloin sautéed with

shitake

and shallots.
