A fire broke out at a plastic container manufacturing plant in Chilgoe-dong, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do.

The fire department received a 119 report saying “there was a fire on the first floor of the factory” around 1:40 pm today (31st), and issued a 'response stage 1', an alert that all personnel are dispatched.

About 90 firefighters and 40 equipment such as pump trucks were put in to put out a big flame in about an hour after the fire started, but black smoke covered the nearby residential complex, sending a disaster text message calling for citizens' attention.

There were reports from nearby residents, such as "the smell and smoke of burning" and "suddenly the smoke got worse and coughed", but fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.

Police and fire officials said they will determine the exact cause of the fire as soon as all remaining fires are extinguished.
