The trial of former Justice Minister Cho Kuk and his wife, who are being tried together over allegations of corruption in their children's entrance exams, ended prematurely due to the health problems of Dongyang University professor Jeong Kyung-shim.

Seoul Central District Court Criminal Settlement Part 25-1 Chief Judge Ma Seong-young Kim Sang-yeon Kim Sang-yeon Jang Yong-beom ended the trial of the former Minister and wife Cho, which was scheduled until the afternoon of the 27th, early around 11:50 a.m., about two hours after the start.

This is in response to Professor Jung's request for the trial to end early due to the defendant's health problems.

Professor Jeong suddenly raised his hand during the defense's opposing interrogation at around 11:20 am and appealed to the judge for health problems, and the trial was suspended for 10 minutes.

After that, Professor Jeong grabbed the boat and headed to the detention center with the support of former Minister Cho and correctional authorities, and took a break, but his condition did not improve.

In the end, after the trial resumed, the lawyer asked the court to delay the afternoon trial if possible, saying, "The defendant has acute colitis and has a hamstring injury.

Prosecutors recommended that the witness interrogation be conducted in the afternoon after Professor Jeong was discharged, but the court concluded the trial, saying, "The accused did not intentionally want to participate in the trial, and he said that he would not be able to do so because of his health." .

Professor Jeong has complained of health problems in court several times since the first trial, and the trial has been suspended.

In today's courtroom, teacher B, who was the homeroom teacher for the son of former Minister Cho and his wife, A, appeared as a witness.

Mr. B stated that he trusted and quoted the contents of Mr. A's extracurricular activities in his high school life record, such as confirmations and certificates submitted by Professor Jeong and Mr. A.

The prosecution sees the confirmation document itself as false.

Former Minister Cho appeared before the court and was asked about Professor Chung's dismissal from Dongyang University, his daughter Jo's cancellation of admission to Pusan National University Medical School, and his brother's sentence of imprisonment, but he replied, "I can't say anything today." .
