Prosecutors have requested a prison sentence for former member of the idol group 'iKON', Kim Han-bin, who was charged with drug charges.

At the first trial against Kim, held at the hearing of the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Settlement Division 25-3 and Chief Judge Kwon Seong-soo and Park Jeong-je, the prosecution requested the court to "order the accused to be sentenced to three years in prison and a fine of 1.5 million won."

Prosecutors pointed out, "As an entertainer loved by the public, after the crime of this case, he gained enormous profits from his entertainment activities for about three years."

In his final statement, Kim said, "I made a very stupid mistake in the past.

Kim also appealed, "I want to continue to reflect and look back on myself in the future," and "I hope that you give me one chance so that I can live as a person who can be forgiven while keeping my promise and mindset."

Kim's father, who attended the courtroom together, also got a chance to speak, saying, "Me and Hanbin and the whole family are reflecting," and "I will live my life harder."

Kim was handed over to trial on charges of purchasing cannabis and LSD, a type of drug, through his acquaintance A from April to May 2016 and using some of them (violation of the Narcotics Control Act).

After the incident became known, B.I withdrew from the group iKON, and his agency, YG Entertainment, terminated his exclusive contract.

The court is scheduled to give a first-instance sentence for Kim on the 10th of next month.
