The two BAC members fired at a vehicle, seriously injuring two people.

A judicial investigation was opened for "willful violence with a weapon by a person holding public authority" in Stains, in Seine-Saint-Denis, where two police officers had fired on a vehicle, seriously injuring two people, we have learned Thursday from the Bobigny prosecutor's office. The opening Tuesday of a judicial information on the facts which occurred in the night of August 15 to 16 will allow to carry out other hearings and expertises under the aegis of an examining magistrate, specified the public prosecutor of Bobigny.

The two police officers targeted, aged 27 and 30, belong to the anti-crime brigade (BAC) of Stains.

A time placed in custody for "attempted murder" and heard by the IGPN (General Inspectorate of the National Police) last week, they were released.

The driver, 37, received several bullets in the chest, arm and pubis, while his companion and passenger, 39, was injured in the back, according to the prosecution. The police were also injured, more lightly.

A rally on Saturday brought together about 150 people in Stains, mainly relatives of the driver, convinced that he was the victim of an "attempted murder" by the BAC. The family lawyer, Me Yassine Bouzrou, said he had filed a complaint for "attempted murder" and "forgery in public writing", as well as a request for a change of scenery. The driver and his passenger, domiciled in the neighboring department of Val-d'Oise, are also targeted by an investigation for "refusal to comply" and "attempted homicide on a person holding public authority", carried out by the judicial police of Seine-Saint-Denis.
