A woman in her 30s who was accused of causing damage worth 10 billion won after recruiting investors by pretending to be a 'stock keeper' was arrested by the police.

The Daegu Police Agency announced on the 25th that it had arrested a 35-year-old woman, A, on charges of not returning 10 billion won of investment money from investors (Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes) by pretending to be a stock trader on SNS.

According to the police, from 2018 to recently, Mr. A posted on his SNS a post boasting the return on stock investment, an expensive foreign car, and a picture of a luxury watch and bag.

Mr. A is known to have received an investment of 10 billion won from 180 investors by manipulating the investment return graph to pretend that he is making a good profit.

It was revealed that Mr. A committed the crime in a way that prevented the return of the money paid by the new investors as profits to the existing investors when he could not make a real profit.

Mr. A admitted to the police investigation, "I committed the crime alone," and Mr. A's husband is said to have said, "I thought his wife was actually a stock trader."

The police believe that there are no accomplices under various circumstances and plan to send Mr. A to the prosecution tomorrow (27th).
