At around 9:40 this morning, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 occurred in an area 124 km southwest of Eocheong Island in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do.
The depth of occurrence is 7 km, and a maximum seismic intensity of 2 was detected in Jeollanam-do.
The Korea Meteorological Administration analyzed that there would be no casualties due to the earthquake, and that some parts of Jeollanam-do would have felt the earthquake.
In addition, although there is a possibility of aftershocks caused by this earthquake, it is predicted that the intensity will be difficult for citizens in inland to feel.
