A passenger in his 50s who kicked the head of a taxi driver in his 60s in the back seat of a taxi driving at 70 km/h was arrested by the police.

The Gangseo Police Station in Seoul announced yesterday (17th) that they are investigating a man in his 50s for assaulting a driver under the Act on Aggravated Punishment for Specific Crimes.

Person A is accused of kicking the driver's head and swearing in the back seat of a taxi that was running at 70 km/h on Seoul Olympic Road around 4 p.m. on the 9th.

When the taxi came to a sudden stop due to the sudden kick, the following cars also stopped, so there was no collision.

It is known that the taxi driver drove about 10 meters further, stopped the car on the shoulder and avoided his seat.

The driver fled for fear of further assault and reported it to the police.

The taxi driver suffered a neck injury and is reported to be hospitalized.

Person A, who was in a drunken state at the time of the incident, is said to have made a statement in the police investigation to the effect that "I was drunk and I do not remember", but "I was frustrated because I lost my job due to Corona 19."

The police are reviewing a plan to apply for an arrest warrant for A by applying the charge of assaulting a driver under the Specific Crime Aggravated Punishment Act.
