Yesterday (16th) in Seocho-dong, Seoul, a man in his 60s who tried to rob a building on the roadside where law firms are concentrated was caught by the police.

The Seocho Police Station in Seoul announced today that it will apply for an arrest warrant for Kim, a 60-year-old man who is accused of trespassing and theft at night.

Kim is accused of trying to break into a building on the street near Gyodae Station on Subway Line 2 to steal money at around 9:20 pm yesterday.

A security guard found Mr. Kim climbing up the pipe at the back of the building and reported it to the police.

Hearing the shouts, "It's a thief!", Mr. Kim jumped out of the plumbing and fled.

The police, who followed the escape route, arrested Kim in front of a nearby bus stop about 30 minutes later.

Mr. Kim was carrying a portable flashlight and a screwdriver.

It was also confirmed that Kim was punished for committing theft in the past.

During the police investigation, Kim admitted the charges, saying, "I was working as a daily worker, but I needed money."

The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for Kim, who was imprisoned at the Seocho Police Station.

The 15-story building that Mr. Kim was trying to rob was mainly occupied by law firms.
