A man in his 80s was arrested at the scene after assaulting a police officer while conservative groups held rallies in the city center for Liberation Day.

The Namdaemun Police Station in Seoul is investigating the charges of violence against a police officer who stopped the installation of the banner at around 2 pm on the 15th.

The National Revolutionary Party, headed by Pastor Jeon Kwang-hoon of Sarang First Church, held a press conference in front of Dongwha Duty Free Shop in Gwanghwamun a while ago to encourage participation in the protest.

The police have defined all rallies and demonstrations held today as 'modified one-person protests' and are taking strong measures.
