Deputy Prosecutor Jeong Jeong, who was brought to the court on the charge of self-inflicted assault, denied the charge, saying, "I was trying to prevent the destruction of evidence, and there was no intentionality."

The court is "a prosecutor this phone seems to have tried to enter the password" while checking information deputy had exercised type of force without requesting confirmation, "he admitted an assault case.

Immediately after the sentencing, Prosecutor Han Dong-hoon issued a statement criticizing "the process of correcting the violence of power that tried to accuse the innocent," and said, "At that time, all those in charge of command were promoted rather than punished."

Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jeong was promoted during the investigation last year and moved to his office this year to lead the front-line investigation.

The court's conviction raises questions about whether the prosecutor's office is appropriate to continue his job.

In response, the Ministry of Justice said that the sentence has not been confirmed and that there will be no action taken immediately.

Rather, he said that a fact-finding investigation is underway to see if there is a problem in the prosecution process against Prosecutor Jeong, and he responded that he would watch the result.
