Former Chief Justice Im Seong-geun, who was handed over to the trial for interfering in front-line trials during the days of former Supreme Court Chief Justice Yang Seung-tae, was acquitted in the first trial following the appeal.

The 3rd Criminal Division of the Seoul High Court acquitted former Chief Judge Im, who had been indicted without detention on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of exercise, as in the first trial.

In 2015, while serving as Chief Criminal Division Chief Judge of the Seoul Central District Court, Lim was indicted on charges of interfering in the trial of the Seoul bureau chief of the Sankei Shimbun, Japan, who was charged with defamation of former President Park Geun-hye.

He is also accused of having the lawyers of Minbyun deleted controversial expressions from the judgment of the assembly in front of the Daehanmun Gate, and of having the professional baseball players deal with a summary order without submitting the case to a formal trial.
